It is for books in a printed format.
Categories will be
- Adult fiction
- Young Adult Fiction
- Children's fiction / Children’s picture books
- Non-fiction
- Poetry
If not enough entries to award all three endorsements, the category will not be judged, and the book/s and entry fee will be returned to the author.
Categories will be judged by one judge who has not entered the category they are judging.
Each category will have a score rubric representative of the genre
Nominees submit a copy of their book or books, which are not returnable, by the closing date.
Only one entry per category is permissible.
Each title in each category will have an entry fee of $20
The Book Awards open on April 1st and close on June 30th bi-annually (odd-numbered years).
Winners of each category will be announced at the Bronze Quill luncheon.
Each category Winner will receive a Certificate and 100 gold endorsement stickers for their covers, if they wish to use them
Runner-Up receives a Highly Recommended certificate.
Third place receives a Recommended certificate.
All entries commended will be well promoted through the SWW website and the authors can use their endorsement in their marketing strategies.
No cash prize money to be awarded.
Each competition is open to books published in the two years prior to the competition year. E.g. books published in 2025 & 2026 for the Book Awards held in 2027.
