Writing Classes

August 6              Writing short fiction -   Kathleen Knight

Learn the difference between short stories and long/er stories, and how short your short stories can be on the page. How much prose is too much, and how much writing is just enough? What techniques make a short story different to a chapter in a novel? Come along and find out.

August 13           Immersive Writing  -   Helen Iles

How do you get readers to glue their attention to the page and stay there, turning page after page? This session covers how to draw your readers into the setting of your story, into the head of your character/s and into the plot so they experience your story from within. This makes your writing memorable.

August 20 & 27  Crime Writing   -   Helen Iles

This short course will help you create the elements of a suspenseful crime story readers can’t put down. The course covers memorable sleuths, cunning villains, crime types, the importance of the right setting, laying clues and how to write an unforgettable ending.
